Sunrise Rotary Board Minutes

June 26, 2002

President Julie Brunner called the meeting to order at 7:00 a.m. at the Wild Huckleberry.

Craig reported that he had received a resignation from Mark Lombard, who wishes to drop out of Rotary for this time, due to a busy time and tight schedule. It was moved, seconded, passed to accept his resignation.

Julie said she had met with Rich Powers and Dennis Johnson concerning a project for the community. There is land owned by the city, which could be "Rotary Baseball Park", done in conjunction with other Wentchee clubs.

The Budget was discussed —

Don Sangster reported the Senior Dinner cost was $4,500, and since no sponsors will be solicited next year, we need to budget $3,000 for this item.

Several new line items are added to this year's budget, including a GSE committee, Polio irradication committee, and Interact. The New Member project will be dropped.

It was mentioned by Milt that Dave, following the bike ride, had to spend $200 to clean up the viruses from his computer and he should be reimbursed for this.

Mark explained the Polio project, the need, what's expected of us, which is $8550. This would be equivalent to $150 per member payable over three years. There are several ways this can be done, including a fundraiser. Ideas were mentioned by Julie including, a Bingo night, Cruise (which Terry agrees to do again-possibility of making it a district wide project), or a fund-raising dinner with Dan (polio victim turned motivational speaker) as speaker. Mark challenged the board to be the first to commit to the pledge.
