SUNRISE ROTARY
Minutes of the February 2003 Board meeting
Meeting was called to order by President Julie Brunner at 7:00 a.m. at Wild
Huckleberry.
- Membership was discussed. The group received inadequate
membership report. Secretary will do better next time.
It was decided that a letter should be designed to send to delinquent members who have not been there
for some time. Carol will devise one and deliver to board members. A letter will
then be sent to Laurie Knight, and other members who have not attended for some
time.
Bryan offered to do the reporting which has not been done adequately
this year.
- Minutes were distributed.
- Pres. Julie reported
the attendance sign up to go to District Conference seemed to be better than
last year.
- Treasurer's report was given
- Two new members
were proposed. Steve Theusen and Alice Thompson. They were unanimously accepted
by the board.
- Julie read request from Dr. Butler for our financial
assistance. There is a student at Cascade Elementary who has leukemia. We are
out of discretionary funds, but will pass the hat.
- Report on Polio.
Public radio is doing an ad - asking $1.00 per member.
- Received an
Email from Joyce expressing concern about some of our members who seem to be
insensitive to other cultures. A suggestion was made that Sergeant of Arms be
instructed to immediately fine any offender.
- We will discuss this at
"club Assembly" time.
- Meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully Submitted,
Carol Stueckle, Secretary
