JUNE 2003 MINUTES OF THE WENATCHEE
SUNRISE ROTARY BOARD
The meeting opened at 7:00 a.m. by President Julie Brunner. Those in attendance were Julie Brunner, Sara Urdahl, Joanne Rosenthal, and Carol Stueckle.
The subject of the annual audit was brought up. Julie mentioned that Milt had talked to someone at District Conference about the district developing a process for financial review, thus saving audit expenses for clubs. We will wait till we find out about this.
Rotary Park: Julie talked about the city resolution to do the environmental cleanup that will be required. She will get more information for us from Rich, and the Downtown club. We will assisting them with their auction this year, since funds will be going to the park. It is realized that the WSU class was a bit impractical with their designs. Julie brought up some answers to former questions on the subject. We are into it, and concerns can be satisfied. All the clubs will be working together. It is our centennial project.
Honorary members: Another club had tried to give honorary memberships which were denied. They are reserved for a person who has done incredible service. Not very many qualify.
Julie got a message from Bernie Johnson requesting six months leave of absence. Julie will call him. We could not vote on this, since we didn’t have a quorum.
Our Class: Need more people to go on field trip. Only three people signed up. We will recruit.
Ken Davis sent Julie some “polio” membership pins. To be given to donors of over $250.00
Sara reported to Julie a little of what transpired at the Board Retreat, including the enlistment of Eric Holmberg for club photographer. We discussed some of the new things coming up this year, and are excited to get going with our new president.
Respectfully Submitted:
Carol Stueckle
