It is the attendance
committee's charge to provide the club officers and directors with
timely and accurate information on members who are not supporting
the success of the club.
The committee will report to the board on monthly basis, so that
the club may communicate with lagging or delinquent members. The
committee is not expected to discipline members; that is a function
of the club officers and directors.
The club has a goal of 95% attendance for the 2007-085 Rotary
year. In order to meet this goal, the club can accept only 14
cumulative non-made up absences over the year. This calculates to
approximately three per member.
The attendance committee is responsible for keeping
the members informed on their duty to make up, their
responsibilities under the constitution and by-laws, the
opportunities for making up in our area, the assignment of
"attendance status" to club sponsored, area club sponsored or
District 5060-sponsored events and the
status of club attendance on a monthly basis. These communications
should be prepared in writing for distribution by the club to its
members.

The Apple Century Bike Ride is the premier fund raising event of
the club. The committee is charged with preserving the cash flow
from the ride, improving on marketing and increasing the donation
budget for support of the ride.
The Ride Committee will be focusing on increasing ridership and net revenue to the club. As the major club fundraising activity this effort will seek a route that will be appealing and suitable for the high level of rider support for which this event has become known. Additional effort will be placed on developing major sponsors for the event to help defray costs and improve profitability.

- A membership survey was taken before the year to determine specific types of programs members would find most interesting. From this information, the program committee will focus on finding speakers on subject matter most following the interest expressed by membership. To assist committee members in organizing this effort a special web calendar has been set up for committee members to log in their prospective speakers and note special requirements. This information is readily available for publication in the newsletter and for the President’s meeting addenda preparation.
The program committee is one of the basic
foundation committees of our local club. The quality and consistency
of the weekly programs is integral to keeping members interested and
excited by Rotary and its goals. The program committee is charged
with scheduling regular classification, re-classification and
reminder classification talks.
The board recommends, with the exception of club
assemblies (once per month), that the committee schedule reminder
classification talks from existing members at the rate of (2) two
per week. The schedule may start with the beginning of the alphabet
A and end of alphabet Z and work towards the middle. The talks
should be limited to 5 to 7 minutes. No reminder classification
talks will be scheduled if a regular classification talk is
scheduled. New members should be scheduled to give their
classification talks as soon after their induction as is
possible.
Regular programming should be inclusive of all
facets of the Chelan and Douglas county activities. Members of the
programming committee are charged with keeping their contract
director informed on the future schedule of programs as well as
coordinating with the bulletin editor for publication of upcoming
programs.
The program committee, through its chairman is
responsible for sending future program agendas to the newsletter
editor and the club president for use in meeting
planning.

The goal of the Strategic, Financial Planning and Development Committee is to develop a 5-year planning document to be evaluated and adjusted each year as needed. The committee is made up of the current President, the President Elect, the Vice President, the Past President and other members of the club as needed. This committee provides ongoing guidance to the club as to future direction including an evaluation of what the club is doing well, what it could be doing better and how it can maintain a strong base on which to build into the future. Ongoing input is gathered from the club and regular updates are provided to them throughout the year.

The Sergeants at Arms committee are charged with
upholding one of the most sacred tenants of Rotary: "having
fun"
One of the most constructive methods of retaining
strong members is including them on a regular basis in the
good-natured humor, which should accompany each meeting. The
Sergeants at Arms are also charged with making sure meetings begin
with all of the necessary paraphernalia in place, including sign-in
table, raffle tickets, badges, flags, banners etc.
The sergeant at arms is also responsible for the
ongoing challenge of assuring that all members are knowledgeable
about the four way test, pertinent facts of Rotary and who the
officers, directors and fellow club members are.
The sergeant at arms also are charged with
moderating disruptive behavior and assessing proper and humane
penalties.

Ski Race Chair: Taro Masuda
Given the strong interest in skiing within the club, this area of interest has been placed und one chair person and involves the annual Sunrise Rotary Ski Race, a new “day on the hill” activity for club and family members, and the club’s annual ski trip. The race, three years old, is expected to be a major contributor to the club fund raising efforts. To accomplish this will require that emphasis be placed on increasing Rotarian participation from within the District as well as other Districts throughout the Northwest. The “day on the hill” program will involve an organized day of skiing for club and family members complete with ski instruction for those who desire help, as well as a fellowship lunch. The annual ski trip is slated for mid winter and currently is pointed back to Apex Mountain, providing an easy access, family oriented resort getaway.
